With great pleasure, I announce that the Slides for Students book will be coming out in a second edition! A sincere thank you goes out to the UNG Press for their continued support of this project. I look forward to making improvements and exploring new ways to use PowerPoint technology in education.
This renewed scholarship effort impacts this blog. It has been a mix of my interests for a long while: part teaching, part research (especially consciousness and perception), and part personal.
This has gotten a bit messy. To be more focused, a new blog has been created for the presentation and teaching technology-related material. All of the presentation related stuff has been moved to this new location.
The new presentation blog will give greater support to the book. There will be some snippets related to the book. Some material edited out of the first edition may find a new home there. The new blog could have some more examples of powerpoint in action. Another possibility is that the blog format could be a bit freer than the book format, such as exploring opinions and speculations. Some short presentations might be linked to the blog. It might wander into some broader educational technology topics.
People who are interested in teaching with technology can subscribe to the new blog via RSS. Announcements about blog actitivity will also be made occasionally at my Mastodon presence.
